Since the release of C3C, the demands for maps has increased. However the difficulty of creating a C3C map has gone down significantly (thats for the someone as a workaround to the "skip first turn problem" could end up problematic but thats not solved yet)
On the other hand, some members have expresed keen interest in creating maps.
This interest has to be compensated by the fact that we want to keep the quality level of the maps to a consistant level so we have decided to slightly change the procedure regarding Map Making.
This change has no effect on players requesting maps.
Up until now anyone wishing to make a map could just grab the request and make a map, we wish to change this to a system where only "certified" Map Makers will be able to do that, this is of course to control the quality of the maps, but more importanlty to "train" new Map Makers and differentiate from the Map Making Forum Mods.
The Map Makers will be allowed to grab requests and make maps at whatever they time they want and with no obligation at all on their parts, except producing the maps in a timely manner.
For their first few maps, the Map Makers will send them to the Mods for verification but mainly for discussion and exchange of ideas around the tricky issue of balancing maps. Nobody pretends to hold the truth however confronting arguments in a pragmatic manner is the best way to quickly build knowledge and it is essential that the experience of more veteran Map Makers is passed on to newer members who will eventually become the Old Guard ;)

In order for the system to work good communication between the Map Mods and the Map Makers is essential so accepting to become a Map Maker means an obligation to be accessible and communicative, as well as.... open to harsh critic ;)

if any of you has the desire to become a Map Maker please apply here and we can get the bowl rolling. On a personal note, I have to say that both Erikk and Beam have recently helped and I would definitely like to see them join the ranks :D

Hope you do not mind this slight change and please post any comment if the opposite.

That's a great initiative Sky, count me in!

I have to add that workpressure can mean restricted availability sometimes.
