Hey guess what ?
A cow and a wheat on grass with some BGs [lol]
I am gonna irrigate them both! [evil]
Which is not entirely random. These guys seem to be more interested in soldier blood than worker sweat. [mgun]
I have the same: wheat and cow on grass! Alreadu mining the cow ;). Will post a pic tonight.
Thanks Beam! We are on the way!

Republic in turn 62!
I absolutely maximized benifits from being expansionist. My 6 scouts ran through the world, making contacts, finding one settler near and popping 1 or 2 techs. But it was the early contacts that allowed me to trade myself to endless amounts of money. I spent the money by researching on maximum speed to writing, code of laws and philosophy. This delivered me 'The Republic'.
As I clicked 'end of turn' and 'save & exit', the mongols ataacked me: An archer kills himself on my spear: elite.
Another archer kills himslef on the elite spear: leader......
things look good now!

Arrrgggg..., fuck off with this showing off Stapel!!! [aargh]
Ommen of all places [cry]
I dont think I have ever seen so much luck in a game that early ever !
Republic in 62 turns (gotta hate the free Philo tech...), a defensive GL, the Great Lib on deity Pangea [eek]
Was that last one hand built or you got an SGL ? Both are equally lucky !
It's sickening really...
I absolutely admit I was lucky. But it isn't just luck, I think. The only thing that was pure luck was the leader. In my first battle a spear got elite (without loss iirc), the same turn it was attacked again and a Leader stood up. That was just extremely lucky. Just two defensive battles....
This was in turn 63. I already had a pre-build for my FP in Ommen, but decided to rush the FP in another city. This pre-build simply held out until it was a Great Library in turn 101. What is lucky about that?
After the leader I had 7 or 8 elite vics in the war vs the Dutch, so 1 leader all together is pretty normal.
Being republic in turn 62 is also not just luck. From turn one it has been my goal to develop the republic asap. I managed to get full benifit from trading with the AI (expansionist trait can be great on large maps, but take notice I built 5 scouts, before I built my granary in the capitol, and only after that the first hand-built settler). The money I earned from the trading was used to develop CoL and Philo asap, while having a great deficit (iirc, I bought writing from an AI, while having it researched myself halfways). I was the first to have CoL AND the first to have philo after that. Republic as a free tech for that of course.
BTW: I was a tiny bit surprised the TGL got mine.
I consider an early settler on Deity also as extremely lucky. Usually the huts suck on Deity.
You should be happy to just get a tech IMHO instead of nothing or maps/25g.

Shouldnt you cover up the informative parts of your screenshots btw Stapel?
You mean the worldmap? I doubt Erik will really benefit from that.
